This is only the beginning. Just
our passion for trees and the
forest. Our small plantation is
located somewhere along the
winding roads of Bagong Silang,
Camarines Norte in Bicol.
Of the total more than 9 has.
land area we have about 4 has.
open for tree planting (narra
& mahogany for a start). But
we have other tropical
hardwood trees lined up for
the nursery & planting.
to stop global warming or climate change:
1. Change a light
Replacing one regular light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb will save 150 lbs.
of carbon dioxide a year
2. Drive less - Walk more
Walk, bike, carpool or take mass transit more often. You'll save 1 lb. of carbon dioxide
for every mile you don't drive
3. Reuse, Recycle more
You can save 2,400 lbs. of carbon dioxide per year by recycling just half of your
household waste
4. Check your tires
Keeping your tires inflated properly can improve gas mileage by more than 3%.
Every gallon of gasoline saved keeps 20 lb. of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere!
5. Use less hot water
It takes a lot of energy to heat water. Use less hot water by installing a low flow
shower head (350 lbs. of CO2 saved per year) and washing your clothes
in warm water (500 lbs. of CO2 saved per year)
6. Avoid products with a lot of packaging
One of them is bottled water. You save 1,200 lbs. of CO2 if you cut down your garbage by 10%
7. Adjust your thermostat
Moving your thermostat just 2 degrees down in winter and up 2 degrees in summer
you could save about 2,000 lbs. of CO2 per year
8. Turn off electronic devices
Simply turning off your television, DVD player, stereo and computer when not in
use will save you thousand of CO2 per year
9. Plant trees
A single tree will absorb 1 ton of CO2 over its lifetime. Eight trees will offset the amount of
carbon a person releases by simply breathing during an average lifetime

To be able to walk under the branches of a tree that you have planted, is really to feel you
have arrived with your plantation.  So far we are on the way: we can now stand beside ours.

Now we are working on a commercial
timber plantation. About 50 to 100
has. of different species of tropical
timber.  May take a year or more
for the project to start. We need to
work with government bureaucracy.
