Eco-Tourism
Camp John Hay puts extra
effort towards preserving
and enhancing the natural
environment for you and
your family to enjoy.

Butterfly Sanctuary
As part of the Eco-Tourism
component of Camp John
Hay, the butterfly
propagation program was
created. Thus, a Butterfly
Sanctuary was constructed
to house these beautiful
and colorful creatures.
Several species of
butterflies are in this
sanctuary. All members of
the family, especially
children, love to come here
to satisfy their curiosity, and
learn a thing or two about
nature and its gentle
creations. It is a peaceful
and relaxing experience -
and you learn something.

The Eco-Trail
Nature is at its purest form.
The Eco-Trail is deemed as
a living library where people
can learn more about
nature and develop a more
caring attitude towards the
environment. The John Hay
Eco-Trail basically takes the
route of the White Trail, a
two-kilometer path that
starts at the old main gate,
cuts through the forested
area between the golf
course and Loakan Rd.,
and ends at Ordonio Drive
near the MPR office. The
trail currently features a
hanging bridge, picnic
tables, and view decks. On
a clear day, one can have a
magnificent view of the
sunset from the trail.

The trail is a work in
progress. Other future
developments include:

Camping Sites
Information and art galleries
Outdoor recreation facilities
Activity areas for outdoor
performances and exhibits

Rock Climbing
Picnic Area
View Decks
Hiking Trails
Themed Villages
Outdoor Fitness Area
Hanging Bridges
Souvenir Shops

Reforestation
There are 115,679 Benguet
Pine trees in the Camp
John Hay Leased Area.
Currently, there are over
47,000 pine seedlings and
over 20,000 ornamental
plants at the John Hay
Nursery waiting to be
planted. To date, over
70,600 trees have been
planted within and outside
Camp John Hay reaching
as far as La Union and
Metro Manila.

Clean Air Act
Camp John Hay strictly
implements the Clean Air
Act in its facility and uses
recycled paper for most of
its needs. Soon, even its
power needs will be derived
from solar energy.

course at Camp John
Hay, a clubhouse was
constructed to service
